MAG4 ‘Finance with a Human Face’ Award
New for the 2027 edition! The award, organised by MAG4 Piemonte, is presented to the film that best explores themes related to:
the overwhelming and ever-growing power of finance,
violence and financial slavery,
experiences of alternative finance,
grassroots initiatives for solidarity-based mutual aid.
The aim is to broaden our perspective on today’s society, on the contradictions within a hyper-globalised system, and on the interests of multinationals listed on financial markets – whose turnover exceeds that of many nations – thereby creating a very powerful and hidden force that exerts an ever-greater influence on politics.
The political landscape appears to be increasingly dominated by individuals who come from that financial world and are beholden to it, often brazenly prioritising their own personal economic interests.
The gap between rich and poor is widening dramatically across the globe, creating glaring economic and survival disparities. MAG4 Piemonte is a financial co-operative that has been building real alternatives to the banking system for 40 years.
Like all ethical finance organisations, it adheres to the international manifesto which, as its primary objective, holds that credit, in all its forms, is a human right.
Through the creation of an alternative economic circuit that provides an independent, fairer and more dignified channel of financing, which stands in opposition to the banking logic of ‘giving to those who already have’. Both the lending and the raising of funds adhere to the criterion of excluding those economic activities that hinder human development and contribute to the violation of fundamental human rights, such as the production and trade in arms, production that is harmful to health and the environment, activities that encourage addiction and gambling, activities based on the exploitation of people or the suppression of civil liberties.
The winner will receive a cash prize, intended to support the creation of future works that continue to explore and delve deeper into the themes of ethical finance and exploitative finance.
Prize fund: 1,000 euros.
